Out Of The Box

If you know me, you’ll know that I cease any opportunity for donning lehengas, anarkalis and sarees of bright colours with sequence and embroidery on them. They have their own charm and elegance and I think I carry them off quite well, if I can say so myself. But most of the time these clothes live on the top most shelf of my cupboard, packed in big clear plastic bags and only get the love they deserve during weddings or festivals.

Alternatively, Kurtis are a great way of sporting an Indian look on a day-to-day basis but since I work from home and didn’t have an Indian dress code in college, they’ve never been my first option of clothing.
So I decided to incorporate them in my western outfits and come up with a fun way to get myself into wearing a kurti more often.
Along with being worn in the conventional way (paired with leggings or a chudidar) I decided to use it as a cape and threw it over a tank top and a pair of leggings.

Let me know what you think of my latest fashion ‘experiment’, and I’ll see you’ll very soon.

Until next time,
