OOTD: Easy Layering

06:48 Unknown 0 Comments

Hi guys!
After having a bit of a writer’s block last week I’m back this week with my very first ootd post.
By an ootd post I mean that this was not a post I had planned for but it still made its way on my blog because I was quite happy with my look.
Since it wasn’t planned, I didn’t get a lot of pictures clicked like I usually do for my other posts.

I’ve been taking my blog quite seriously for the past few months and have been quite regular with my posts.
I felt super guilty for not having posted anything last week which is why I’m planning to do another post which will be up (hopefully) by Thursday this week.

Coming to this post, here is an outfit that I wore the other day while I was running some errands.
Although we don’t have much of an autumn here in India, I do quite like the whole idea of layering clothes.
I’d been on the lookout for a full-length cape since November last year and got my hands on one quite recently.
I chucked it on over a simple black shirt and a pair of jeans just to add a little something to my casual outfit and to make it a bit more fun. A pair of comfy flats, a handbag and a pink lipstick is all I needed to complete this look.
As always, let me know what you think about this chic, boho look and I’ll see you’ll very soon.

Until next time,
Niyati Mathur

Princess Diaries

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well.

(Dress - Vero Moda, Shoes - Charles And Keith, Earrings - Forever New, Bracelet - Lifestyle)

So a couple of months ago, I went along with my parents to Tipu Sultan’s summer palace in Bangalore. I’ve been living in Bangalore for the past 14 years and didn’t even know that this palace existed until quite recently. So I paid it a little visit and was quite impressed with what I saw.
It’s not too big or fancy, but beautiful nevertheless.
It has been maintained quite well and is a really nice spot to go to if you’re into palaces or want to have a quick outing on a Sunday afternoon.

Also, in this post, the location just brought my whole look together and went so well with the theme.
I think I’ve mentioned it on the blog way too many times before, that as a child; my ultimate goal in life was to be a princess.
And this maxi that I bought a while back totally made me look and feel like one.
Since I’m not big on accessorizing, I opted for a dainty little bracelet and some big chunky earrings and also went with a pair of heels. I went all out with the sparkle because the maxi in itself is quite simple; besides, you can’t be a princess without a little bling!

Until next time,
Niyati Mathur

Out Of The Box

If you know me, you’ll know that I cease any opportunity for donning lehengas, anarkalis and sarees of bright colours with sequence and embroidery on them. They have their own charm and elegance and I think I carry them off quite well, if I can say so myself. But most of the time these clothes live on the top most shelf of my cupboard, packed in big clear plastic bags and only get the love they deserve during weddings or festivals.

Alternatively, Kurtis are a great way of sporting an Indian look on a day-to-day basis but since I work from home and didn’t have an Indian dress code in college, they’ve never been my first option of clothing.
So I decided to incorporate them in my western outfits and come up with a fun way to get myself into wearing a kurti more often.
Along with being worn in the conventional way (paired with leggings or a chudidar) I decided to use it as a cape and threw it over a tank top and a pair of leggings.

Let me know what you think of my latest fashion ‘experiment’, and I’ll see you’ll very soon.

Until next time,
