Summer Essentials

Hello everybody!

I’ve wanted to branch out to beauty and lifestyle along with fashion on my blog for a while now, and I figured, that now is a good time to do so since summer has officially begun.
In this post I want to share with you a few beauty related tips and tricks, which I follow, that you might also find helpful this summer.

       Moisturise:

Moisturising is a must even during summer irrespective of what skin type you have. I used to always skip moisturizing during summer as I have oily skin and figured that moisturizer will just make it worse, up until last year when I was advised by the doctor to continue moisturizing with a moisturizer with SPF in it.

Lacto Calamine Skin Balance( for oily skin)

 B.B. Cream:

During summer I usually ditch my foundation for a good BB cream because I find that foundation tends to get quite cakey, on my face after a while.
BB creams are really light and make you feel like you have no make-up on, while giving you foundation like coverage which is great during summer.

Maybelline Clear Glow BB Cream

Face Primer:

If however, on some days I need to put on a lot of make-up I always start off by using a face primer. It keeps my make-up in tact through out the day and gives my skin an air brushed look, which makes it look great in pictures.

Benefit The POREfessional

Lip Liner:

During summer, I personally tend to stick to using light pink lipsticks or lip gloss, but on days when I would want to wear a red lip I make sure that I line them with a liner. This makes the lipstick stay in place all day without straying to my chin and cheeks.

LA Colours Lip Pencils

Hair Serum:

Subjecting your hair to straighteners and curlers can damage your tresses in pretty much all the seasons, which is why I use a water- based serum to manage my frizzy hair. It also gives very soft beachy curls to my hair, which I prefer over super straight hair in summer.

Pantene All Day Smooth Miracle Water

Western with a pinch of Desi

07:59 Unknown 0 Comments

Hello everybody!

The Indo- Western trend has been around for a while and the stunning combination of western and Indian clothes never fails to fascinate me.
Wearing an ethnic floor length skirt paired with a plain western top and accessorizing it well is one of the best and easiest, ways to follow this trend, in my opinion. Unfortunately I do not own an ethnic skirt, but have always wanted to incorporate a bit of ethnic styles in my outfit.

For this blog post, I wore a classic combination of a white shirt with a pair of denim jeans and to give it an ethnic touch, I opted for a little vest, which came paired with a kurti that I bought.  With a pair of white sparkly shoes and jhumkis, I had now added a touch of ethnic to my otherwise western outfit.
Initially I had planed on wearing a bracelet for this post, but it completely slipped my mind and I realised it only when I sat down to edit the pictures.

Let me know in the comments, what you think about my outfit and how you choose to combine the  Indo - Western trend in your outfits.

Fruit Fashion

06:53 Unknown 0 Comments

Hello Everybody!

Despite the heat, frizzy hair and feeling sticky I absolutely love summer!
I love being able to relax with a cold drink, out in my balcony, and summer is the perfect time to take pictures of sun flairs for my instagram.
It is also the season, when I like to experiment with different styles and colours to incorporate them in my outfits.
This summer, I am completely obsessing over fruit prints and patterns and I think, they are perfect for transforming a simple, casual outfit, into a fun and quirky one. And not to mention, they look extremely cute!

Crop Top - United Colours Of Benetton, Jeans - Elle, Belt - Max, Shoes - gift, Earrings - Claire's

For this blog post, I am sporting a fruit print crop top, with a pair of jeans that make the look an easy-going one. The thing I love most about printed clothes, is that you can keep the accessorizing to a minimal and still get away with having a complete look!
Let me know what you think about the fruit print that is currently trending!
Until next time,

Monochrome with a pop of colour

06:47 Unknown 0 Comments

Hello everybody!

If you follow me on Instagram, you’d probably know that I absolutely love monochrome!
During winter, I usually wear my black, whites and greys with a bold red lip and I’m good to go but in the summer I tend to neglect them and usually opt for outfits with bright colours.

However, this summer I’ve promised my self that I am not going to push my monochrome pieces to the back of my closet and have decided to incorporate a little colour to them to, so they don’t look too dull for the season.

Top - Forever21, pants - Vero Moda, Bag - gift, Shoes - Bangkok, Earrings - Bangkok

For this look I wore a delicate, white, lace crop-top with my pleather pants, that I just cannot rave enough about, and added a pink sling bag along with a pair of matching wedges and earrings to go with it.

Let me know what you think about wearing monochrome in the summer.

Until next time,
Niyati Mathur
