That Colour Is Not For Me!

Hello Everybody!

I’ve always had a love hate relationship with the colour yellow as I think it does not look good on me at all, which is why I often avoid buying yellow clothes. However, over the years a few yellow pieces have found their way into my closet.

Since it feels like summer is here I decided to wear a sun- dress for a brunch with my friend. It seemed perfect because I find dresses to be more comfortable than pants in the summer. And the big floral print on it was a bonus as it gave off summer like vibes.

Initially, I just accessorised the outfit with yellow earrings that are shaped like flowers and a yellow necklace with a pair of yellow shoes. That was going to be it, but this morning I developed a bit of a cold, which is why I decided to carry a shrug with me to keep me warm but that too ended up being yellow. I chose all things yellow because I wanted to choose a colour from the dress itself, other than red.

At first I was quite apprehensive about the look that turned out to have a lot of yellow in it, but decided on carrying on with it instead of changing into something else when I realized that sometimes its ok to try wearing a colour that you think is just not for you. But I’ll be honest with you and tell you that I felt even more comfortable with my look after my mother and friend convinced me that it looked absolutely ok.

Leather Lovin'

08:16 Unknown 0 Comments

Hello everyone!

I’ve always loved leather clothing and if I could have it my way I would wear them through out the year! This winter I found a pair of pleather (plastic leather aka faux leather) pants on sale and ever since I saw them I just knew that they were going to be my absolute favourite.

These pants have been my staple for the past two months as the material is quite thin and are very comfortable. They also are really trendy and add an edge to a simple outfit.
On days when I am in a hurry or if on lazy days I want to look fancy without putting in a lot of effort, my pleather pants are my go-to option and I pair them with literally any top and the end result is never disappointing.

The best part about them is that they are comfortable enough to be worn on hot days but tend to get a little too warm in the sun, which is why I think I’ll be able to wear them in summer, to a mall or a cafe perhaps, as long as I stay indoors.

Top - Zara, Pants - Vero Moda,  Jacket - Borrowed from mom, Bag - Forever 21, Shoes - Stilettos(Delhi), Sunglasses - Fast Track

For this post, initially I did think that the outfit lacked accessories but I wanted the pants and the studded shoes to be the main highlight and accessories would have definitely taken away attention from them.
Let me know what your go-to outfit is on lazy days.

Until next time,

Love Is An Open Door !

Happy Valentine’s Day all you beautiful people!

I wanted to put up this post a while ago but just kept putting it off for ‘tomorrow’. I finally pushed myself to do it and here it is! In keeping with the theme of Valentine’s Day, today I am sharing with you an outfit idea that is perfect for a date night with Mr.Right or a night out with your girlfriends.

Dress - Delhi(don't remember the name of the shop, sorry) , Jacket - Elle, Earrings - Forever New,
Ring - Shoppers Stop, Shoes - Charles & Keith

If you know me personally or if you've figured it out from the name of my blog, you’ll know about my toxic obsession with pink, which is why I chose it as the main colour in my look.
The shades of pink in my outfit gave off very soft and subtle romantic vibes that made the look super cute.

Since the dress in itself is quite simple I tried to tone it up a little by incorporating sparkly accessories and shoes. I also threw on a pastel baby pink coloured biker-girl-jacket as it tends to be cold at night. The ring was a last minute addition but truly completed the look.

If you want to keep your whole look simple or if your dress is plain without any details on it then I would recommend wearing a bold statement necklace and tiny stud earrings.

Until next time,

Transformation Tuesday

06:10 Unknown 0 Comments

Hello everybody!

If you know me personally, you’d know that I am the sort of person who either makes no plans at all or crams too many plans on the same day.
The other day my best-friends and I planned to go on a shopping spree and lunch followed by a girls night out.
On days like these I usually find myself in a fix, whether I should wear the same outfit throughout the day or carry an extra pair of clothes with me.

For todays post I will be sharing with you a way that I found to be really handy in transforming the same casual day look into a night look.

Top and pants - Zara, Bag - forever21
Day : Sunglasses - fast track, chain - gift, Shoes - lifestyle
Night : Jacket - Zara, Earing- borrowed, Shoes - Bangkok

Since it is quite sunny and warm during the day I wore a simple, grey tank top with a pair of black pants. As the outfit looked very plain I choose to accessorize it with a long quirky chain.
With a black sling bag I was ready to shop till I drop in my super comfy outfit.

As it tends to get colder at night I decided to throw on a multi-coloured sequenced jacket and ditched my ballet flats for a pair of pink wedges.
I wanted the jacket to be the highlight of my outfit so I kept the accessories to a minimum and opted to wear a feather earing in just one ear.

I hope this post gave you some ideas of transforming an outfit from a day to a night look without worrying about carrying an extra pair of clothes, shoes and accessories.

Until next time,
Niyati mathur
